I’m an Adult, and I Love Disney

I have heard the same questions over and over again: “You’re going to Disney again?” or “Isn’t Disney for kids?” or “Wow, you are still into Disney?”

Yes, I am an adult that loves Disney, and I don’t care who knows!

My love for all things Disney goes back as far as I can remember. As I child, I could be found watching Pocahontas or wandering around the house with my custom embroidered Mickey Mouse ears. I was also fortunate enough to take several trips to Walt Disney World with my parents growing up, which only fueled my passion.

My love of Disney didn’t stop as I hit my teenage years. I envisioned what it would be like to have my own Prince Charming, and was pretty convinced I was a long-lost Disney Princess.  I can openly admit that I have watched many Disney shows that may have been meant for a younger audience (Hannah Montana, it’s worth a watch!).  I also didn’t stop the frequent trips to Walt Disney World. I’ve gone for spring break, my honeymoon, birthdays, and baby-moon to name a few!

It’s safe to say I have officially converted (or corrupted depending on how you look at it!) my husband to the Disney way of life. Before we had our son, my husband and I took a few trips to Disney. Our first trip together was on our honeymoon, visiting parks adorned with Cinderella and Prince Charming ‘just married’ pins. We returned again to celebrate my birthday in Disney-style with lots of great food and character meet and greets.

When we found out we were pregnant with our miracle baby at the end of 2014,  there was no better place to celebrate our babymoon than Disney! I walked down Main Street with pride holding my tiny little 14-week bump, and letting our son in on the Disney fun!  I even had a ‘My First Visit’ pin perfectly placed in the middle of my tiny bump so everyone could celebrate with us.

Since our son Blake has been born, we have taken him to Disney World when he was eight months, sixteen months, and most recently to celebrate his second birthday. It’s been amazing to see how he changes on each trip, and what memories he brings back home. Blake is to the point now where he sweetly (and frequently) asks “I go back and see Mickey Mama?”

Whether we are in a Disney Park, or at home, we still have that feeling of Disney love. Our son drags his Mickey around everywhere he goes, our dog’s favorite toy is a bright yellow Mickey shoe, and our home is adorned with photos from all of our trips. For, us Disney isn’t about a place, it’s about a feeling. For us, it’s a feeling of comfort, of home, of love, and so much more. We are firm believers that Disney Magic is what you make of it!
