Danielle Alexander


Danielle lives in West Bloomfield with her husband, Chris, and daughter, Analise. A former high school English teacher, Danielle now spends most of her days with her daughter at the library (or other toddler-friendly locations) and her evenings at local coffee shops either tutoring or writing. Her favorite word is Sonder (it’s totally worth looking up!) and works daily to not only achieve it but lend a helping hand whenever possible. As a metro Detroit native, Danielle loves relaxing on boats during the summer months, meeting family and friends at cider mills in the fall, and eating Greek salads and pita at Coney Islands whenever possible.

Chrissie Garber


Chrissie lives in Plymouth with her partner Rob and their blended family of four girls, Brynn, Maya, Caroline, and Eve who range from infant to middle-schooler. She is a full-time working mama at an automotive manufacturer. When she’s not working, commuting, or spending time with the family, Chrissie trains for marathons. Alysha Boyle


Alysha is happily married to her handsome hockey-loving hubby and is a proud stay-at-home mom to 2 mini-hockey enthusiasts.They live in Brighton and love being a part of the community at their church, 2|42 Community Church. Alysha loves to keep it real on the hilarious absurdity of #momlife and especially #boymomlife. Kelly Houseman


Kelly lives in Birmingham with her husband, lively toddler son and an even more spirited miniature schnauzer. She runs her own mental health counseling practice part time where she specializes in pre-and post-natal maternal health and women’s issues. When she is not helping her patients she can be found working out, traveling, blogging {}, and chasing 90’s boy bands around the country to attend their concerts.

Annelyse Miller


Annelyse resides in Troy with her talented husband Jon and their amazingly creative children Julian, Desmond and Magdalena. She is an English and Spanish teacher by training but has spent the last 7 years as a SAHM with several very part time gigs. They include teaching improv and drama, selling planner stickers and organizing materials on Etsy and ghost writing. She loves yoga, the theatre and staying up all night reading. Her children are also obsessive readers much to her delight. She grew up on politics, soccer and Star Wars in Rosedale Park. When they aren’t completely consumed with kid activities, Annelyse and her husband perform improv and are in two troupes together. Kelly Lerdahl


Kelly lives in Oxford. She is married to Brandon and they have a handsome and stubborn little boy named Milo. Kelly is a middle school English teacher for a large public school district–a job she is very passionate about. Outside of work and family, Kelly enjoys reading, running, making to-do lists, and constantly attempting to do it all. She enjoys spending her Saturday’s at any of the great area farmers markets, checking out all of Detroit’s craft beer establishments, and wandering through our local libraries. She believes it is important for all moms to have a mom tribe and is happy to have you join us at Detroit Moms Blog.

Sherene Buffa


Sherene is a witty, soft-spoken, often times sarcastic, hard working mama. An Oakland University graduate with a degree in Communications, Sherene and her family currently reside in Sterling Heights. She and her husband of almost 10 years have two wild, imaginative, and never out of energy little girls, Shayla (5) and Charlotte (nearly 2). She feels like a modern day Wonder Woman; by day she works for the government in human resources, by evening she is tending to her little prodigies. Her days consist of working, cooking, cleaning, and loving, but she is always fueled by sloppy kisses and Folgers coffee. She is a deep thinker who loves to write in the very scarce time she has. Creating memes is very therapeutic for her and you can find all of them on Instagram. She has been a paid movie extra on several films made here in Detroit. She blogs about wiping butts and all things motherhood on her personal blog, Mama’s Doody.

Bridget Black


Bridget Black lives in Royal Oak. She has two kids – Bodie (1.5) and Maddie (4.5). Maddie is the coolest and kindest big sister, with craft skills for days. Bodie is all boy, and easy going. Their family is complete with her super supportive, (and good looking) husband, Jason. Her family moved to Michigan in the winter of 2016 from Colorado. Being away from all family and mama friends, Bridget’s transition was slow, but the crew is adapting and loving life in The Mitten. She’s a working mom turned stay-at-home, and in her free time she loves to drink champagne (most days after 5 pm), find new places to dine, and be outside in the sunshine. Bridget’s looking forward to growing her tribe in the Detroit area and helping other mamas who are making the tough transition to a new city.

JeeYoung Wenglikowski


JeeYoung is a work at home mom to two little boys with a third baby boy on the way! She is married to David and resides in Macomb Twp., MI. They love to try out new local eateries and traveling with their energetic crew whenever possible. JeeYoung loves people and has a big heart to serve others. She likes to remember to enjoy the little things in life and find the joy in the mundane. On the daily, she enjoys sleeping, cooking, reading, writing, shopping, eating, drinking hot coffee. All of life’s essential things that take a little bit more effort these days while mothering her two little boys. Oh yea, and she’s a firm believer that Targeting is a way of life. Jamie Freeman


Jamie is a Dearborn girl born and raised, but recently moved to New Baltimore. Her husband Mark and her have two perfect kiddos. Benny, born in 2013, and Ellie, born in 2016, are full of giggles and joy! Jamie works full-time from home designing virtual classrooms and curriculum for a technology company, and Mark is a stay at home dad. After Benny was born, Jamie became an advocate for the Down syndrome community. She is a National Down Syndrome Society Ambassador for the State of Michigan, and is the President of her 501(c)3 non-profit, The Down Syndrome Diary.

Robin Kinnie


Robin is a native Detroiter, wife and momma bear to three – 2 daughters and 1 son. Robin launched Motor City Woman, a broadcasting and recording studio in 2015 which operates Motor City Woman Radio – an internet radio station showcasing issues women care about featuring an all-female lineup of show hosts. She believes everyone has a talent and works hard to celebrate fellow women. She enjoys living room dance parties with her family and listening to podcasts. Kelly Long


Kelly is a working mom of a drool-y, energetic and bright 1.5 year old, Finley and step-mom to a sharp, funny 6 year old, Lailah. She and her fiancé, Mike, are raising their family in Marysville. She loves the security of small-town life with the convenience of being close to the city. Kelly and her family enjoy spending time at the beach in the summer, spontaneous adventures in + around Detroit, and cheering on the MSU Spartans! Kim Colon


Kim is a career woman by day and wife/mommy by, well… all the time. With her husband she is raising one sweet and sassy 3 year old girl who is constantly keeping them on their toes. Starting their family a little later than most first time parents, Kim offers a unique view of life as an “older” mom of a toddler. Kim and her family love being outdoors and spend time each summer in the gorgeous Upper Peninsula and on Lake Michigan walking, biking, swimming and exploring in an effort to instill their great love of all things Michigan in their daughter. For added fun, she loves to document every outing through her love of photography. Making a happy and healthy home are priorities for Kim and her family; finding the love in the little things in life and trying not to take their blessings for granted!

Meghan Simonie


Meghan Simonie was born and raised in Dearborn, did a 4-year stint in East Lansing (Go Green!), and now resides in Canton. She is married to her best friend and partner in crime, Matt, a mom of two of the most amazing human beings, Madelyn (Maddie) and Jack, and an Immigration Paralegal for a large law firm in downtown Detroit. She has always had a passion for writing and been a very open person; combining those traits have inspired her to contribute to this awesome network of Detroit area moms. One day, you might even see a book authored by her, who knows! She loves being a working mom and strives everyday to maintain balance between work life and mom life. She couldn’t be happier that she found such an outstanding group of not just fellow writers, but true friends within the Detroit Moms Blog.

Chel Bell Guild


Chel, a married mother of two, moved to Southfield from Southwest Florida in 2016 and has thoroughly enjoyed immersing herself in all things Detroit. She loves pizza, wine and all forms of art (the more eccentric, the better). She has a special place in her heart for Santa Fe, New Mexico; a passion for social justice and civic engagement; and often laughs at her own jokes. As a practicing optimist, Chel searches for the silver lining in whatever life throws her way. She hopes to inspire and support other women on their journeys through various life transitions. Stacie Cooper


Stacie lives in Warren. She is married to Bill. They have two beautiful, lively, independent daughters, Brianna and Brooklyn. Stacie earned a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Photography from Northern Michigan University before attending Radiographer school. She works full time as an X-ray Technologist at one of the busiest trauma hospitals in Detroit. When she isn’t working, the family is most likely making memories together. They can usually be found at the Detroit Zoo, Belle Isle Aquarium, The Outdoor Adventure Center, or at the kitchen table making crafts. In the event she finds herself with a moment to herself, Stacie enjoys photography, hiking and reading.

Candice Byrne


Candice was born on the other side of the Ambassador Bridge, but grew up in the metro Detroit area. She currently resides in the lovely city of Plymouth and is the blessed mama of a beautiful and intelligent little angel named Thea; She fills her soul with a love that she didn’t know existed! Candice is a lover of life, people and food. She have champagne taste on a Faygo budget and is an expert at failed Pinterest attempts and kitchen dance parties. She enjoy running (slowly) and yoga, and has a knack for finding a silver lining on the darkest of days. Candice believes that a compliment and a smile can make a world of difference. Dave Levich


Dave lives in Farmington Hills with his wife Lindsey where he recently switched gears from a successful sales career to being a full time employee for their young son Grayson. Dave brings a non-traditional “stay-at-home dad” perspective to the team, which he mixes with his own unique sense of humor and satire (sometimes successfully). He brings humor and a sense of levity whenever things get stressful or just too serious. His love for useless trivia in sci-fi or anything geek culture is only surpassed by his devotion to his family and young son. Amy Wille


Amy lives in Macomb. She’s married with young two boys. She grew up with only sisters, so she is constantly learning how to navigate being a boy mom. She’s a partner at a litigation law firm, so balancing work and home life is one of her biggest challenges. She is a strong believer in communities and all they have to offer, especially community programs for children and volunteer opportunities. You can often find her at one of the branches of her library, participating in many of their programs or reading books with her boys. In the warmer months, they are always trying to find new parks. Amy is proud of her east-side roots but also loves exploring the City of Detroit with her boys. For fun, she loves to read, shop, and try new restaurants.

Kristine Vazzano


Kristine lives in Bloomfield Hills and is the mama of two spirited, creative, and energetic children. She maintains a private practice as a psychologist specializing in eating disorders and works hard to reduce stigma associated with mental health. Despite years of trying, Kristine yet found solutions to ending “mommy guilt” and striking the elusive work/life balance, but she loves what she does and is learning to embrace each day as it comes. Kristine doesn’t believe parenting is possible without a village of love and support, and feels eternally grateful for the village she relies on (more than she would like to admit). Kristine believes in breathing deeply, sweating once a day, lattes, and Anthropologie. She also believes strongly in connection and collaboration, leading her to this blogging adventure with Detroit Moms Blog. She looks forward to sharing and learning with you!

Megan Germain


Megan lives in Livonia. She’s married to Aaron, and they have a sweet-soul of a toddler daughter Rosie. Their first “babies” are feeling pretty jilted; French Bulldogs Bruno and Pearl got booted out of the spare room to make way for twin boys, expected to arrive any minute! Megan works full-time in automotive digital marketing, but constantly feels the pull of entrepreneurship, or rather mompreneurship. When she’s not balancing her working mom schedule with her ever impossible home organization standards, you can find her dreaming up more designs for her apparel and babywearing company, launching soon! Megan has a passion for all things birth, attachment parenting, and supporting mom-bosses, whether they work in or out of the home (and yes, stay-at-home-moms are working!) She loves chocolate milkshakes and believes that leggings ARE pants.

Allyson Dunn


Allyson lives in Livonia. She is a single mom, to a very energetic and sweet eight-year-old boy. He loves all things Minecraft, swimming, and karate. Having previously taught middle school social studies, Allyson is currently an elementary teacher in Detroit. When not at her sons sporting events, she enjoys reading and working out. As a family, they enjoy traveling up north, utilizing their memberships at the Henry Ford and Zoo, and Detroit Tigers baseball!

Lacey Stone Salerno


Lacey is a Shelby Township/Rochester mom. She is happily married to her college sweetheart Aldo, and has two funny and active little boys, Aldo and Marco. Lacey is in house counsel for Dunham’s Sports, and formerly a civil litigator. She has a unique and often brutally honest perspective on parenthood, and the challenges and triumphs associated with it. Her passion is her family and the being the best version of herself that she can be. Lacey’s hobbies include running, biking, skiing, concerts, and trying great new restaurants. She is also very into giving back to her community, which is one of the reasons she loves sharing her motherhood experiences with the DMB community.

Diana Abdallah


Diana is a Metro Detroit native, grew up in Sterling Heights and currently a westsider, Westland. She’s married to an engineer, Mike, and they have an adorable, spirited, sweet 3yr old, Vincent. Diana’s a ptsahm (part-time stay-at-home-mom) Juggling life, work, mommyhood and being a wife makes life super hectic! Diana enjoys girly conversations over hot meals at restaurants with her friends. She loves all things family and the traditional Sunday dinners so her son learns to keep family close, just like she does. A mildly (haha) obsessed coffee lover. Diana isn’t afraid to be honest about life and lay it out all on the table. She’s a sucker for any new make-up (especially a good mascara), skin care product or new beauty treatment. Danielle lives in Farmington with her husband, two girls, and two cats. Although she traded her first grade teaching job to be a stay-at-home-mom, she can never quite turn off her teacher side. When Danielle isn’t busy chasing around her two girls, she loves sewing, doing DIY projects, and cooking yummy food. Christina Wincek


Christina is a New York native who lives in Birmingham (by way of Los Angeles) with her husband and toddler girls who everyone mistakes for twins. There is also a golden retriever involved, but that makes it all sound too Stepford. A lover of all things food and craft beer, she can be found trolling restaurants and festivals throughout Metro Detroit with her kids and a whole lotta One Spot activities in tow. She is a barre addict, in it for the mind, body and soul strengthening, but mostly to counterbalance the aforementioned food and beer. When not momming, she enjoys overbuying kids clothes, ladies nights, travelling, and telling it like it is. Lindsay El-Yussif


Lindsay resides in Birmingham with her husband of five years, Eddie, and their son, Nicholas. As the leading lady of a very busy household, she wears many hats; although, admittedly, she’s much more of a shoe girl. When she isn’t wrangling their 19 month old or clicking away on her keyboard, Lindsay loves Instagramming, strolling through Homegoods, sharing a cheeseboard and a bottle of red wine with her husband, and dreaming of bedtime.

Sarah Blalock


Born and raised in Ohio, Sarah now lives in Bloomfield Hills with her husband Michael and their three children. Although she’ll always be an Ohio girl at heart, she’s adopted Michigan as her home, and she fell in love with Detroit and the surrounding area from the start. Sarah and Michael are both busy attorneys, which makes keeping up with their 4-year old son and 1-year old twin daughters a challenge, but it is never boring! In her admittedly sparse free time, Sarah loves to cook, read, knit and craft. She is addicted to online shopping and Netflix, and she firmly believes that there’s a good one-liner out there for just about any situation. If she can come up with it, she’ll gladly put it on a tee shirt.

Jesi Foltz-Goike


Jesi lives in Romeo. She is married to Matt and is an official ‘Boy Mom’ to their son and puppy. Jesi is a recruiter by trade, and also is a pageant director in a local pageant. She is gluten free, and loves finding new places to eat and shop in Metro Detroit. Jesi is a a true country girl and enjoys riding her four-wheeler through the mud. She is a ‘wear your heart on your sleeve’ type of girl, and is passionate about helping others and engaging in her community.

Betty Dannewitz


Betty hails from Downriver. She’s married to David (for 17 years) and they have two beautiful girls – Lucy (14) and Sally (9). Betty is a Corporate Trainer for Ally Financial and facilitates training like Emotional Intelligence and Crucial Conversations. She has a passion for helping people become the best version of themselves and loves serving others as the Guest Services Leader at Southpoint Community Christian Church as well as in her other affinity groups. She loves working in downtown Detroit and enjoys the dose of city life each day. Her favorite things to do including working out, lifting heavy, hanging with her friends, learning more about leadership and psychology and she is also a podcast and audible addict. Jessica Maurer


Jessica is a born and raised Michigander who never wants to leave. She currently lives in West Bloomfield and tries to get up north as often as possible. She loves spending time near water no matter the season. Jessica met her husband at CMU and now they have 2 energetic and outgoing kids. She loves taking pictures, travel, and is a stay at home mom who is rarely actually at home. Lindsay Katherine Murphy


Lindsay Murphy is a 29-year-old wife and Stay-At-Home-Mom from South Lyon, Michigan. Together with her tech-loving husband (Ryan), they have a beautiful baby boy (William) and an exuberant French Bulldog (Rosie). Lindsay is a graduate of Novi High School and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Albion College in English and Spanish. A girly-girl and fashionista with a penchant for all things pink, pretty, and preppy, Lindsay also has a keen enthusiasm for writing, editing, and social media. She adores fresh-cut florals, sleep (oh, sweet sleep!), shopping, red wine, sweaty yoga sessions, and dry wit. Kelsie Rodriguez


Kelsie lives in Ferndale. She’s married to Gabe, and together they have a bright and determined toddler, Theodore. After staying home with Theo for 18 months, Kelsie has recently returned to work as a part-time social worker supporting mothers and their young children. Kelsie’s hobbies include playing piano, reading, going to new restaurants around Detroit, and traveling – mostly with Theo in tow. (He was on 16 flights by 16 months!) On fall Saturdays, you can find her tailgating or obsessively watching Michigan football from her couch. A small-town girl at heart, Kelsie loves Detroit and has a running list of places to try in the D.

Erin Piper


Erin Piper is a metro Detroit native and has lived in Wayne County her whole life. She’s been married to her college sweetheart since 2008 and they are raising their son and daughter in Livonia. She has two part time gigs – running an online marketing business and managing a cafe/playscape at her church. She loves m&ms, Gilmore Girls, and the rare moments when her kids are both sleeping at the same time.

Anna Sennett


Anna lives in Wyandotte with her fiancée Chris and their beautiful kids She graduated UMD with a Bachelors in English in 2012 and had CJ exactly one year later. She has considered herself a SAHM since CJ was born, although she owns a dance studio and a Mary Kay business on the side. She is always trying to balance life between work and home, while planning her wedding and dance recital within weeks of each other this coming May! She enjoys meeting new people and finding fun things she can do with her kids. Follow Anna as she takes this adventure through life and finds out how everything will fall into place!

Sara Ruhland


Sara lives in Livonia. She is married to Rick, and they have an adorable and strong daughter named Olivia and two spoiled dogs. Sara is a full time working mama who is always trying to find the “work-life” balance (does that even really exist??) She is a recovering perfectionist and struggles with the decision between a peaceful bath and cleaning up dishes on the regular. She has a passion for supportive and honest relationships; those free of judgement and full of love. When she does choose time over dishes you can typically find her on her yoga mat breathing, crying, laughing, and just being. She loves spending time with her funny, loving husband and her amazing, wonderful, supportive group of friends. You can often find her checking out new restaurants and sampling the wine. She is an animal lover with a “squad” that consists of Oprah, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Brene Brown, Kristen Bell, Glennon Doyle Melton and Elizabeth Gilbert. Amanda Onoro


Amanda lives in Berkley with her boyfriend, Mike, and their 10 month old son, Michael. She loves living on this side of town after living in Ann Arbor for 10 years (Go Blue!). She is a long time preschool teacher turned stay-at-home mom and finds ways to continue to work with kiddos while being home with her own little one. She is passionate about early childhood education and feels so lucky to be able to bring that into mommyhood. You can often find her neck deep in crafts, taking a barre class, out and about whenever the weather allows for it, watching some kind of sporting event and/or enjoying an adult beverage of any variety. She is looking forward to connecting to other moms around Metro Detroit.

Jen Prouty


Jen is a life-long resident of the Detroit Metro Area and is currently residing in Northville with her two loves – her husband, Pat, and Jamerson [their one and only son]. Jen loves being a mom to her creative nine year old and is on a constant quest to find balance between parenthood and running her own portraiture business, Jen Prouty Photography. When not volunteering at her son’s school or balancing the many hats of being self-employed, you will find Jen teaching classes at Northville’s Art House or connecting with other moms in her community. In her downtime, Jen loves family time – whether traveling on vacation or exploring Detroit – she is always up for new adventures. She is inspired by positive and uplifting prose and loves good coffee, honest conversation, and laughter with friends old and new. Meredith Weston-Backaitis


Meredith lives in Royal Oak with her husband, Matt, two boys, Charlie and Henry, and a baby girl coming soon! She grew up in Birmingham and after a ten year stint in Chicago she moved back to the area to raise her family. She stays at home with her kids and spends her days trying to find calm in her beautifully chaotic life. She loves working out, cooking, attempting DIY projects and sneaking away with her husband on the occasional date nights around town. She has a passion for writing and connecting with other women through her blog, Meredith always looks for the positive moments in life and believes that finding humor in her crazy life makes that possible!

Lindsey is a recent transplant to Detroit by way of Nashville, New York City and Denver. She currently resides in Huntington Woods with her husband, Phil (a Detroit native), their 16-month-old daughter and two rescue cats. A long time vegan and vegetarian, Lindsey enjoys cooking and baking for her family. When she has a spare moment she also loves reading, crafting and yoga. Lindsey has an MA in Educational Psychology with a concentration in Early Childhood, has taught PreK-First grade, and is a certified yoga teacher. Her Bachelor’s Degree is in Musical Theater, and she still secretly dreams of starring on Broadway. She is fortunate to stay home with her daughter most days but loves teaching at Honey in Ferndale and supporting schools and families through early childhood consulting part time. Find out more at

Jennifer McGruther


Jennifer was born and raised in Detroit. Upon marrying her husband Adam, they moved to Westland then Redford, but recently she became a Livonia Mom. Now married almost 18 years, they have three growing boys (Jackson, Alex & James) that keep them very busy! Jennifer received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from University of Michigan, then began working in Marketing. When her oldest was born nearly thirteen years ago, she happily parted ways with her career to become a SAHM. Jennifer has a passion for running, reading & writing, but her family, friends & faith are where her heart lies.
