Pumpkin Roll-Down!

Get those pumpkins laying around after Halloween and bring them to the Sledding Hill in Clinton township. This 25 foot hill will be the perfect place for the entire family to roll pumpkins down and get a chance at winning some cool prizes. Even if you don’t win a prize you can enjoy free cider and donuts, watch pumpkins smash and dash down our hill! This will be held every year, at 6:00 pm the day after Halloween!

The 3rd Annual Greater Detroit Shwarmafest

Our featured food vendors will include Byblo’s Cafe, La Feast Restaurant, the Shawarma Grill, Mito’s Turkish Doner and the Pita Post Food Truck.

The 3rd Annual Greater Detroit ShawarmaFest will feature:

The Great Pumpkin Roll

Bring your old Jack-O-Lantern to Mill Pond Park for a little fall fun. You’ll race your pumpkin against others in this 11th annual competition. Winners will get a fun mystery prize and everyone will enjoy hot cider, donuts and some laughs! The event sponsor, Waste Management will have an antique truck on site for the kids to see. Make sure you bring your camera! No need to preregister.

Turkey Trot

Join the Livonia Parks and Recreation Department as we walk/run to help the less fortunate. Profits and can-food donations will be given to the Livonia Goodfellows organization, which provide families in need in Livonia with a Christmas dinner. After the run/walk there will be a food truck rally!

Ford Free Fun Day

The Michigan Science Center will host a free event in honor of Veterans Day. All guests, including veterans and their families will receive free general admission.  An all access pass, which includes the creatures of light exhibit and IMAX will be available for an additional $10 per person.  Pre-registration is required!

Mustache Dache

The Mustache Dache® is the nation’s premier mustache-themed running race series! Men, women and children are all invited to embrace their inner Mario or Luigi and participate in this slightly irreverent 5K event. Taking place in or around the month of November, the national series helps The Movember Foundation, a global charity committed to men living happier, healthier, longer lives. Paw Patrol LIVE: Race to the Rescue

Bike Through the Lights 

Wayne County Parks is offering bike riders a chance to bike
through the lights before Lightfest opens to the public. This is
an “out and back” event so all bike riders must be able to bike to
the Warrendale picnic area and back (16K).

Santa’s Lighted Parade

Santa, in his sleigh will go through the streets of St. Clair. He will receive the key to the city and countdown to the lighting of the tree in Palmer Park. Refreshments will be served  and visitors can see reindeer in the Candy Cane Corral.

Holiday Lighted Parade and Community Tree Lighting ceremony

Join the thousands of parade goers as the holiday season officially kicks off with the Holiday Lighted Parade. Bands, dancers, float and of course, Santa, make this annual favorite a great family tradition!
The parade will be first andwill be followed by the official lighting of the tree and a chance to talk with Santa. Local churches will have hot chocolate and a family photo station available for parade goers.

Wyandotte Christmas Parade

 
The Parade route begins at Northline near the Police/Court Building and ends at Eureka Avenue. The parade begins at 10 am and usually runs approximately one hour. Wyandotte’s Christmas Parade often draws participation from local marching troupes, pipe and drum and marching bands, schools and organizations from throughout Michigan and Canada. The parade ends with Santa Claus!
 
Location :: The parade route runs along Biddle Avenue from Mulberry to Pine Street.

The 90th America’s Thanksgiving Parade® presented by Art Van in Detroit

Oakland County Parks Free Parks Access Day

The Nutcracker

BalletMet Columbus brings you the classic holiday production. Taylor Winter Festival

It isn’t often that you see fireworks during the holiday season, but that’s going to become a reality this year! 

The second Taylor Winter Festival will kick off the opening of Santa’s Magic Forest with a parade.  The parade is tentatively scheduled to march from City Hall, 23555 Goddard Road, to the Sheridan Center Open Air Pavilion in Heritage Park. Many festivities will take place in the Sheridan Center, capped by the arrival of Santa Claus, the official tree lighting … AND A FIREWORKS DISPLAY!

Planetarium Presents: Earth, Moon & Stars

Come see what the excitement is all about…we will have our full-sized dome planetarium all set-up and ready to amaze you. Enter the dome for an unforgettable experience as we take a tour of our galactic backyard by watching a comedic and educational movie that will soar us to the sun, the moon, and even a little beyond…all from the comfort of the nature center. Not recommended for children under the age of four.

Amber Cross
Amber has two young children and her husband serves in the United States Coast Guard as a Master Chief. He has been to New York twice, Alaska, South Carolina (where she joined him in 2009) and two billets in Michigan, their home state. Their final tour will be spent in California. Amber is a Michigan girl to the absolute core. In what free time she has, she enjoys yoga, aromatherapy, *all-things-Detroit* and sweet, sweet sleep.
