DMB’s Guide to Halloween Events

We hope you enjoy this comprehensive list of fun Halloween things happening in + around Detroit for the entire family. It’s safe to say there’s no shortage of spooktacular things to do. October 13th

Boo Bash
When: 6:30-8:30pm
Where: Orion Center (1335 Joslyn Road, Lake Orion)

Join for an evening of Halloween fun including cider and donuts, hay-wagon rides, a bat exhibit, and more! Registration is required.

Hallowe’en in Greenfield Village
When: October 13-15, 19-22, and 26-29 
Where: Greenfield Village (Dearborn) 

Experience the historic Greenfield Village filled with 1,000s of jack-o-lanterns, costumed characters, dramatic performances, and more. Tickets are required. 

October 14th

The Great Pumpkin Festival
When: 10am-5pm
Where: Maybury Farm (50165 8 Mile Road, Northville)

Enjoy live music, pumpkin painting, corn maze, and more! Festival and farm admission required.

Stonewall Pumpkin Festival at Van Hoosen Farms
When: 10am-4pm
Where: Van Hoosen Farms (1005 Van Hoosen Road, Rochester Hills)

Activities throughout the day include pumpkin carving, music, food, and more! Carve a pumpkin and leave it along the stone walls. Return later in the evening (7-9pm) to see them lit up!

Auburn Hills Fall Festival in the Woods
When: 11am-3pm
Where: E Dale Hawk Woods Nature Center (3799 Bald Mountain Road, Auburn Hills)

A petting farm, hayrides, pumpkins for carving, cider and donuts, and live music will all take place! Admission is $2 per person.

West Bloomfield Fall Fest
When: 12-4pm
Where: Marshbank Park (2805 Hiller Road, West Bloomfield)

This free, fall themed event will include games, a petting farm, inflatables, food trucks, and more. Some activities will be available with ticket purchase.  

Trinity Utica Trunk-or-Treat
When: 2-4pm
Where: Trinity Utica (45160 Van Dyke, Utica)

Join us for lots of candy, games, and fun! Decorating your car is not necessary, but there will be a prize for the best decorated car!

Ghost Night at Governor Warner Mansion
When: 7-9:30pm
Where: Governor Warner Mansion (33805 Grand River, Farmington)

This event is for adults and children 8 years and OLDER. For ticket info, contact the City Clerk’s Office at (248) 474-5500.

October 15th

Halloween Trick-or-Treat Open House
When: 12-4pm
Where: Livonia Parks and Recreation (15100 Hubbard St, Livonia)

Enjoy a day of swimming, rock climbing, raffles, food, and giveaways! There will be trick-or-treating for children. Livonia residents are free; a fee is required for non-residents.

RWB Trunk-or-Treat
When: 3-4pm
Where: Bruce Twp Park (223 E Gates, Romeo)

Each family with participating children must provide treats to pass out from their vehicle. Please bring enough candy for 200. Prizes awarded to the best-decorated vehicles. Enjoy grilled Hotdogs, Cider, Donuts & Crafts. Please call to register your vehicle.

Wally’s Halloween Spooktacular Trunk-or-Treat
When: 3-5pm
Where: Wally’s Frozen Custard (22501 Harper Ave, St. Clair Shores)

Enjoy trunk-or-treating and get a chance to meet The Ghostbusters!

October 20th

Halloween Hoot
When: October 20th, 21st, and 22nd; Time pending ticket time slot
Where: Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve (333 North Hill Circle, Rochester)

Groups will gather in the nature center to create a spooky craft, and then head out to the wooded trails. Included in your ticket entry is also the mini-fair with Halloween themed carnival games. Tickets are required.  

October 21st

HarvestFest Detroit
When: 12-4pm
Where: Dequindre Cut Greenway (near Eastern Market)

This free event has tons of activities for the family. Enjoy trick or treating, a pumpkin patch, inflatables, and more. Bring a nutritious non-perishable food item to donate.

Boo Bash
When: 12-2:30pm
Where: Heritage Park (24725 Farmington Road, Farmington Hills)

There will be lots of Halloween fun at this event! Hayrides, s’mores, and a “candy free” trick or treat. Registration and tickets are required.

Boo Bash
When: 2-4:30pm
Where: Southfield Pavilion (26000 Evergreen Road, Southfield)

This event will feature ghoulish games, hayrides to a pumpkin patch, trick-or-treating, and a spooky skating party. There are admission costs for the event.

Friendly Forest
When: 2-6pm
Where: Clintonwood Park (6000 Clarkston Road, Clarkston)

Walk a friendly decorated trail to collect goodies! There will be wagon rides, a hay maze, treats, and more. You must reserve a time slot. Contact (248) 625-8223 for ticket info.

Trick or Treating in Downtown Rochester
When: 4-5pm
Where: Downtown Rochester

Kids are encouraged to dress-up and trick-or-treat. Over 50 businesses will be participating!

Trick-or-Treat Along the Trail
When: 4-6pm
Where: Kensington Metropark (4750 Huron River Parkway)

Wear your costumes and trick or treat along the trail! Afterwards return to the Nature Center to enjoy cider and donuts, and fall activities. Tickets required.

October 22nd

Pumpkin Palooza
When: 12-3pm
Where: Downtown Plymouth

This is a family fun event including costume contests, games, petting zoo, and tons of entertainment.

Trick or Treat Among the Trees
When: 2-4:30pm
Where: Stage Nature Center ( 6685 Coolidge Hwy, Troy)

Put on your costume and hike along the woodland pumpkin trail! Afterwards, enjoy some harvest games and Halloween songs. Registration is required.

October 24th

Spooktacular
When: 6:30-8pm
Where: Bloomfield Township Public Library (1099 Lone Pine Road, Bloomfield Twp)

Join the library for Halloween festivities for all ages! There will be scary stories, ghoulish games, and fun. Costumes are encouraged! No registration required.

October 25th

Lake Orion Halloween Parade
When: 5:45pm (Begins promptly at 6pm)
Where: Ehman Center (55 Elizabeth Street, Lake Orion)

Children of all ages are invited to wear their costumes and walk in the parade through historic Lake Orion.

October 26th

Fun on the Farm Halloween
When: 10am
Where: Kensington Metropark (4750 Huron River Parkway)

This event is geared towards ages 2 to 6. They will get to trick or treat, play Halloween games, and visit a “haunted” barn. Registration required.

Downtown South Lyon Trick-or-Treating
When: 6-8:30pm
Where: Downtown South Lyon

Trick-or-treat from business to business in Downtown South Lyon.

Hocus Pocus
When: 7pm and 9:30pm showings
Where: The Henry Ford (Dearborn)

Enjoy a favorite Halloween movie on the big screen at Henry Ford. Hurry and get your tickets before they sell out!

October 27th

Waterford Parks & Rec Trunk-or-Treat
When: 6-7pm
Where: Waterford Recreation Center (5640 Williams Lake Road, Waterford)

Families and local businesses will be passing out candy in the parking lot to trick-or-treaters. Registration required.

Trick-or-Treat on Washington Street
When: 6-8pm
Where: New Baltimore Parks & Recreation Department (35248 Cricklewood, New Baltimore)

This spooktacular Halloween event is full of fun activities including bounce houses, a straw bale maze, live entertainment, food, treats, and tons of free giveaways! Pre-registration with the New Baltimore Parks and Recreation Department is required.

Our Shepherd Lutheran School Trunk-or-Treat
When: 5:30-7pm
Where: Our Shepherd Lutheran School (1658 E Lincoln St, Birmingham)

Trunk-or-treating will take place in the Our Shepherd Lutheran School parking lot on the west end. Food will be available for purchase. The night will be full of games, bounce houses & fun for all ages. No scary themes, please. There will be a prize for the most creative trunk & costume!

October 28th

Streets of Treats and Halloween Parade
When: 9:30am-12pm
Where: Downtown Northville

There will be trick-or-treating stations throughout downtown Northville. Costume parade begins at 9:45am.

Trick or Treating at the Downtown Farmers Market
When: 8am-1pm
Where: Rochester Farmers Market (Corner of E. Third St and Water St, Rochester)

Enjoy the Farmers Market and trick-or-treating all in one!

Sterling Heights Trunk-or-Treat
When: 11am-4pm
Where: Sterling Heights Lion Club (12828 Canal Road, Sterling Heights)

This Halloween extravaganza will be from 11am-4pm, and trunk-or-treating will be 12-2pm. A $5 donation is suggested.

Trick or Treasure
When: 12-3pm
Where: Downtown Clawson

Kids in costume will travel through the downtown businesses collecting allergy-free treats!

Trick-or-Treat: Fairytales, Folklore & Fables
When: 12:30-3:30pm
Where: Troy Historic Village (60 West Wattles Road, Troy)

Wear your costume and collect tasty treats from all over the village fairytale land. Registration required.

Trick or Treat at the Farm
When: 6-pm
Where: Wolcott Mill Metropark (65775 Wolcott Rd, Ray)

Enjoy trick or treating, cider and donuts, Halloween crafts, and more at the Farm Center. Registration is required as well as a Metropark vehicle entry permit.

Oak Arbor Trunk or Treat
When: 6pm
Where: Oak Arbor Church (495 Oak Arbor Circle W, Rochester)

Come enjoy a free safe trick-or-treating option!

Halloween Yoga and Dance Party

When: 6-8pm
Where: Born Yoga (2121 Cole St, Birmingham)

Born Yoga is hosting a Halloween party for ages 4-10. Wear your costumes for a fun filled night! Registration is required.

October 29th

Halloween Hoot
When: 12-2pm, then 6-9pm
Where: Beverly Park (18801 Beverly Road, Beverly Hills)

There will be pumpkin carving and trick or treating. Children can wear costumes to trick or treat along the trail. Cider and cookies are available at the pavilion.

Birmingham Farmers Market End of the Season Celebration
When: 9am-2pm
Where: Birmingham Farmers Market Lot #6 (666 North Old Woodward Ave, Birmingham)

Wrap up the farmers market season with trick or treating, hayrides, live music, and more!

Birmingham Pumpkin Patch & Halloween Parade
When: 1-4pm
Where: Shain Park (260 Martin St, Birmingham)

A pumpkin patch, children’s activities, bounce house, and more inside Shain Park. Parade begins at 4pm.

Trick-or-Treat Trail
When: 3-5pm (4 sessions)
Where: Marshbank Park (2805 Hiller Road, West Bloomfield)

Come trick or treat on a safe and friendly ½ mile paved trail. Don’t forget to wear your costumes! Registration is required.

Trick or Treat Trail
When: 6-7:30pm
Where: Clawson City Park (935 N Custer, Clawson)

Bring a flashlight and bag to collect goodies from local businesses and organizations. All children must be with an adult. Stay for cider and donuts afterwards!

Halloween at the Village
When: 5-7pm
Where: Village of Rochester Hills (104 Walton Road, Rochester Hills)

Come to the Village of Rochester Hills and enjoy wagon rides, bounce houses, trick-or-treat stations, and more. Cost is $5/child or 5 non-perishable items to donate.

Halloween Boo Bash in the Park
When: 5-8pm
Where: David H. Shepherd Park (24198 Church St, Oak Park)

The Halloween Book Bash will feature a hayride through an outdoor nature trail, trick-or-treat around the park, and more. This event is free!
