Plymouth Ice Festival is one of those events you just can’t miss. This one draws visitors from all over to Kellogg Park, while staying committed to supporting downtown Plymouth’s local business community. The hand-carved sculptures will amaze, with previous masterpieces ranging from castles and fire and ice towers (yes, it’s actually burning) to King Kong and Mount Rushmore. There’s plenty of time for photo ops — the sculptures are available for viewing 24 hours a day. Once you’ve seen them all, stroll around downtown Plymouth. Surrounding businesses will feed your appetite and give you your shopping fix.

If you’re in the mood for festival food — hot chocolate, roasted almonds and elephant ears — there’s that, too. Hit up the warming tent, see a movie at the Penn or Plymouth Historical Museum, and enjoy live entertainment and other presentations. Just make it back in time for the dueling chainsaws competition — one block of ice and 15 minutes makes for a pretty entertaining spectacle.
