Hazel park is hosting a Memorial Festival from May 24th-28th. There will be a carnival (provided by Skerbeck Family Carnival), baseball games, music, craft sales and more. You can find a list of all the activities here. The Memorial Day parade will take place on May 28th starting at 10:00 a.m. at the intersection of John R and 8 mile.

The Parade begins at the American Legion Hall on Commerce Road and ends in Central Park on Main Street, with a somber and respectful service for those who have served.

The Memorial Day Parade has been a Novi community tradition forever, honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.  You can also be in the parade. Calling All Novi Kids!  Be IN the Memorial Day Parade!  Decorate your trikes, bikes, scooters, wagons, strollers (no motors) at home or get assistance and FREE supplies in the assembly area. The Novi Memorial Day Run is a special family event for children, adults, and veterans. Events like the 1 Mile or 5K walk for the whole family including your dog! Stay for the Memorial Day Parade afterward!

The parade ends in the South Lyon Cemetery with a touching ceremony that commemorates veterans.

The parade ends at Oakland Avenue, where a memorial ceremony takes place at the Farmington War Memorial Monument in Memorial Park. The ceremony features local Honor and Color Guards, and high ranking officials from various branches of our military service.

Major Joseph Cannon,Executive Officer with the Michigan Army National Guard will be the keynote speaker. The ceremony will also include music from the Heritage Concert Band of Troy, raising of the colors by the Troy Police Department Honor Guard, and the laying of a Memorial Wreath.

WAYNE COUNTY

The event is held at the Veteran’s Park Memorial Plaza is a tribute to our veterans. With a military, salutes, a wreath placing ceremony special guests, and music. You can also visit the Memorial Wall which honors those Livonia veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The parade features numerous school bands, military aircraft flyovers and hundreds of participants! After the parade at about noon will be a ceremony in the Veterans Park and War Memorial in front of the library.
