Sprayscape Highlight: Turtle Cove Family Aquatic Center

One of our favorite places for summer fun in Metro Detroit is Turtle Cove Aquatic Center (aka water park) in Belleville. The park is part of the Lower Huron Metropark and is an awesome, clean place with a great set up for families with kids. It includes two water slides, a zero entry pool with little kid spray features, 300-gallon dumping bucket, kids sprayscape, and my personal favorite – an endless lazy river! It’s the kind of place I can see my family enjoying for many years to come as our kids are older. Below I’ve given you a few more details and tips so you can enjoy!

The Cost

To enter, you’ll need a metro parks pass. We already had one, but if you don’t, you’ll need to pay by the day, or buy a yearly pass. I like having the yearly pass, but it’s something to consider. Then, you still need to pay for each additional family member over 30.” You can check out the full price list here. All things to consider, but I’m getting to the good stuff…

Cleanliness/Modern Facilities

I’m not sure how old the park is, but it looks great. Everything is in great condition, they have family restrooms, and if you need to use a locker room, they have single stalls. (Thank you, Jesus.)

Something for Everyone

As I mentioned above, there’s something for just about everyone at the park. The toddler crew will like the zero entry pool, brave pre schoolers and most elementary kids will like the sprayscape, and the water slides are fun for most big kids (and my dad and I each went down a few times, too!). Top it off with a lazy river and deeper swimming area, and I think most people will find it a fun place to hang.

Food Options – Turtle Park Grille

No outside food or drink is allowed inside the gates, but there is a picnic area just outside, and you can bring a cooler, or order from the Turtle Park Grille. They have pretty standard snack bar type food (which I not-so-secretly love, so I’m counting as a plus!), and we brought our own fruits and veggies but ordered a few chicken fingers to split as a family, which worked well.
